Job Title: Planning Clerk

Reports to: Planning Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Position Objective / Summary: The Planning Clerk performs all tasks involved with Closing of Work Orders as well as light Planning related duties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Closes out work orders consuming labor and materials paying close attention to detail for accuracy with both material usage and labor
  • Reports discrepancies as is appropriate to either the Inventory Manager or Production Manager.
  • Reorganize files after closing including all paperwork, records, documents, etc. associated with the work order to then pass on for file down.
  • Interface with Accounting, Customer Service, Planning, Graphics, and Manufacturing with any questions regarding Closing as well as light Planning duties.
  • Assists with Planning related duties to include task assignments, emails and Work Order creation as needed.
  • Back fills for the Sample Coordinator position when needed
  • Participates in Year End Inventory
  • Performs related duties as needed by supervision
  • Makes recommendations for process improvement

  • Proficient at the use of computers and utilizing multiple software programs simultaneously
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and their applications
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills- both written and verbal
  • Professional appearance and presentation required
  • Exceptional organization skills and keen attention to detail



Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of Associate’s degree or experience equivalent in a related field is required. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred
