Job Title: Production Planner

Reports to: Planning & Inventory Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Position Objective / Summary: The Production Planner performs all tasks involved in the coordination and flow of work and materials.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Determines product type and build for orders received
  • Works closely with Engineering and R&D for product builds and parameters
  • Calculates and allocates required amounts of materials needed for orders ; reports concerns and discrepancies to Inventory Manager
  • Schedules job operations and quantities ; schedules lead time for production based on capacity and material availability
  • Prepares work orders for new and repeat orders
  • Review and make necessary changes to previously established jobs as required for reprinting
  • Interface with Purchasing regarding material lead times and delivery dates
  • Maintains levels and scheduling for multiple blanket orders
  • Interface with manufacturing personnel, customer service representatives, and sales account managers regarding job status, ship dates, and other pertinent information
  • Receive and issue produced finished goods into system
  • Closes out work orders consuming labor and materials ; reports discrepancies to Inventory Manager
  • Complete and maintain all paperwork, records, documents, etc. associated with the work order
  • Performs related duties as needed by supervision
  • Makes recommendations for process improvement

  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and their applications
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks

  • Exceptional organization skills and keen attention to detail

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of Associate’s degree or experience equivalent in a related field is required. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred
